In Round 5 of 5. Joe Cordiano proved to be the kingmaker of this leadership convention. Eliminated after the fourth ballot, Cordiano threw his support to Dalton McGuinty, giving him enough support to overcome the frontrunner Kennedy in the early morning hours of December 1st.
Dalton McGuinty's victory was an immense surprise, even after five ballots. He was never the frontrunner in the race but he slowly built a support base from his fourth-place finish on the first ballot.
