Description | All 190 seats of the Chamber of Deputies are up for election, out of which 178 will be chosen by proportional representation, seven by Dominican expatriates, and a further five reserved for parties that failed to obtain representation but received at least 1% of the national vote.
This election involves 200 pacts between 27 parties divided into three blocks lead by the three largest parties; the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM), the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD) and the Christian Social Reformist Party (PRSC).
The PRSC-led alliance features the inclusion of a new political party launched by former President Leonel Fernández, the People's Force, which was formed out of the Dominican Workers Party (PTD) in October 2019. |
