| Description | The new leader will be elected by all party members through a preferential ballot cast telephonically between October 16, 2009 at 8:00AM EDT and October 18, 2009 at 3:00PM EDT.
Interested parties must file their candidacy by August 18, 2009 at 5:00PM EDT. They must collect 1,000 signatures, including at least 60 in a dozen different regions of Quebec. They must also pay a deposit of $15,000.

Levesque was eliminated and second preferences of his voters were distributed among the two remaining candidates.
