Description | BBC Profile:
The Richmond Park seat was created in 1997 and has been Liberal Democrat since then. Susan Kramer is the current MP, beating the Conservative candidate in 2005 by 3,701 votes.
Boundary changes for the election are minor: part of Beverley ward is lost to Kingston and Surbiton.
To find out what might have happened had this boundary change been in force at the last election, see a notional - or estimated - result below.
This constituency includes all of Richmond Park, the largest green space in London, as well as Kew Gardens and Old Deer Park.
It is an affluent, middle-class, suburban area with some of the highest property prices of any London local authority. Many residents commute into central London to work in well-paid, professional jobs.
Richmond is on the Heathrow Airport flight path, making expansion plans a significant local issue.
Along with the nearby constituencies of Kingston, Twickenham and Surbiton, Richmond forms part of a Lib Dem stronghold in well-to-do south-west London, but at this election it is a key Tory target.
