Yamina revived itself at the urging of its founder and New Right chairman Naftali Bennett on January 15, 2020. However, Yamina collapsed to an alliance of one (the New Right) after the Jewish Home left on July 14, 2020 and Tkuma, renamed the Religious Zionist Party on January 7, 2021, left on January 20, 2021. Yamina's thinning ranks has not hurt its popularity - it is set to pick up 10-14 seats ahead of the March 23, 2021 general election from its current three in the Knesset, according to polls [Yamina means 'Rightwards']. |
