Description | Far-left merger/alliance of three Danish Marxist parties, and one of the largest openly Communist parties established in a European parliament. Alliance was formed by the Communist Party of Denmark (DKO), bringing in the Left Socialists and the Socialist Workers Party, which deregistered themselves as parties in 2013. Alliance subsequently integrated members of the Maoist Communist Workers Party (KPA), left party-less after the KPA dissolved in 1994. Alliance called for the transformation of Denmark into a Communist state in its program announced on February 25, 2015. Party registered itself for English speakers as "The Red-Green Alliance" and was granted the ballot symbol "Ø" mid-1990. Party has collective leadership in the Communist model and communicates through its spokesman, Mai Villadsen [Enhedslisten – De Rød-Grønne; The Unity List – The Red–Greens (EL)].
