| Description | Alice King, wife of three-term Gov. Bruce King and one of New Mexico’s most respected first ladies, died Sunday evening at Presbyterian Hospital. She was 78.
King, the mother of Attorney General Gary King, was hospitalized Thursday after she suffered a stroke at her home in Stanley. She died at 6:20 p.m., surrounded by family.
“On behalf of the entire family, I want to thank the many people who have been so supportive and for all their prayers,” Gary King said in a statement.
He said public funeral arrangements are pending. |
