Info | Rep. Pat Kelley, a Republican, represents part of Jackson County (District 47) in the Missouri House of Representatives.
He is the former caucus chairman (1991 and 1992) and minority floor leader (1993 and 1994).
Significant legislative accomplishments for Rep. Kelley include: stricter enforcement laws for drug and alcohol abuse, solid waste reduction, workers' compensation reform, and welfare reform.
Rep. Kelley was chosen Outstanding Freshman Legislator for the 1987-1988 session by the House Republican Caucus. He has also been honored by the Missouri Hospital Association, the Missouri Medical Society and the Missouri Community Colleges Association.
In addition to his legislative duties, Rep. Kelley is the pastor at Glenwood Park United Methodist Church in Independence. He formerly was the pastor at the United Methodist Church in Bates County, associate pastor at Aldersgate Methodist, a business owner and salesman. He is a member of the Optimist Club, Chamber of Commerce, the Community Services League and the Boy Scouts.
A 1966 graduate of Savannah R-III High School, Rep. Kelley received a bachelor of science degree in math from William Jewell College in 1970, and a master of divinity from St. Paul School of Theology in 1985.
Born October 27, 1948 in Maryville, Rep. Kelley resides in Lee's Summit with his wife Nancy. They have three children, Ryan, Shane, and Kristen.
