| Info | We deserve politicians who stand up for us and defend our rights - not just ‘toe the party line’.
For too long we’ve endured an undemocratic voting system that has us voting for the ‘least awful’ at each election - it’s time for genuine change.
After an absolutely disastrous (to say the least) 14 years under the Conservatives, it’s time for this particular ‘awful’ to be ousted and they will be. Is the Labour Party under Keir Starmer, going to drastically improve our lives?
We can’t be sure but if he has a safe majority, there’s little-to-no-chance of holding him to account. We need a Parliament that reflects us, and that includes independents, Greens and others who will raise issues that the governing party doesn’t address, and question those it does.
My focus is on the well-being of our community and that requires: -the right to a healthy, non-toxic environment -access to healthcare and dentists -the ability to heat our homes and put food on the table -decent care for our elders and those in need -the provision of activities and opportunities for youth, along with a fair wage and pension for them to look forward to.
That’s why I’m here and this is what I’ll spend my time on, if you elect me as your MP for Blackpool North & Fleetwood:
-Exposing and standing up to the threats to our health from the landfill, polluted seas and rivers -Challenging parliament to tax the wealthiest, just a little bit more in order to halt the cost of living crisis that brings poverty, suffering and strains on our mental health -Fighting for the dignity and care of our elders and those who need additional help -Promoting jobs and training in the new economy - green jobs in transport, renewables, insulation -Addressing the severe lack of youth services and opportunities for our young -Holding governing bodies to account for their failings.
Families here and everywhere, deserve better than the old-world politics that has failed to serve us well. Try something new this time? Don’t let the stagnation of a 2-party system hold your vote hostage.
