InfoMiddlesex County Freeholder Charles Kenny chairs the County’s Infrastructure Management Committee. Freeholder Kenny’s accomplishments reflect his commitment to develop programs that support and protect our residents and enhance their overall quality of life.

A lifelong Woodbridge resident, Freeholder Kenny is a graduate of Middlesex County College. Since 1995, he has served his hometown as Chief of Woodbridge Fire District #1. He also was a member of the township’s Local Assistance Board and Sewer Utility Review Board, as well as the Mayor’s Council on Physical Fitness.

Freeholder Kenny has over 17 years of government experience as an elected Councilman in Woodbridge, where he served as Council President in 2003 and 2013. As a councilman, Mr. Kenny collaborated with Middlesex County to develop and open a township dog park. Freeholder Kenny further showed his commitment to animal welfare by overseeing construction for an animal shelter and a pet adoption center. He also has overseen the development and funding of programs that increased safety throughout the Township of Woodbridge, most notably the Township-wide Reverse 911 Emergency Alert program. He also worked to install AED (Automated External Defibrillators) in all police vehicles and co-chaired a committee that increased safety in all emergency, Township and Board of Education vehicles by equipping them with trunk radios. His other accomplishments in Woodbridge include the implementation of programs for pedestrian and rail safety, improving parking for commuters and business owners, as well as preserving Open Space.
