InfoBill Sharer was trained to lead in the Army and has honed those skills in business. He is a leader who understands the issues and knows what is right.

William (Bill) Sharer is a 52 years old native New Mexican, born in Albuquerque and raised in Farmington. He married his wife Beth in 1981 and has two adult children, Amanda and Sean and four grandchildren.

As a graduate of Farmington High School, New Mexico Military Institute and New Mexico State University, he has deep roots in New Mexico and understands the needs of the area.

A former U.S Army Officer, Bill served his country as a infantryman, graduating from the elite Airborne, Ranger and Special Forces Schools. After leaving the Army Bill returned to Farmington and now runs a successful business in the community.

He was first elected to the New Mexico State Senate in 2000. He now serves on the committees, Corporations & Transportation and Conservation committees.

Bill is very proud of his work in the state senate. He has been very effective in stopping bad legislation by working with like-minded legislators (both Republican and Democrat) in behind-the-scenes efforts to protect us from over-burdensome taxes and stifling regulations. Bill defends traditional marriage and fights for the un-born.
