Ran unsuccessfully for the Cincinnati City Council in 1947 and 1959.
Elected to the Cincinnati City Council in 1949, 1951, 1953, 1955, 1963, 1971, and 1973.
Mayor Berry was a member of Alpha Phi Alpha, the first intercollegiate Greek-letter fraternity established for African Americans.
