InfoAs the MP for North Ayrshire and Arran since 2015, I have championed a range of important causes on behalf of constituents.

From the commencement of my first term I have been assiduous in assisting constituents, community groups and local businesses as an active and accessible MP.At Westminster, I have vocally supported the right of Scotland to choose its own independent future while successfully working cross party to secure two weeks paid bereavement leave for all parents who lose a child under the age of 18 years old and those who experience a stillbirth.I continue to campaign for pension justice for WASPI women who had their state pension age raised with little or no notice and I have been extremely vocal on a wide variety of animal welfare and consumer rights issues.Locally, I work in partnership with SNP led North Ayrshire Council and promote the SNP Government as it delivers better housing, schools, and the best NHS in the UK.I have held portfolios in the SNP Westminster group such as spokesperson for Levelling Up, Department for the Environment, Farming and Rural Affairs and most recently the Department of the Attorney General. My constituency focus means that I have campaigned locally on matters such as support with dementia, loneliness, debt support, energy bills and the cost-of- living crisis.Importantly, I jointly organised with the local SNP MSP a dozen employment fayres, five funding fayres and actively encouraged a 900 job, £1.4 billion green investment into my constituency.
