Info | Gary Crawford, his wife, Heidi, and their two daughters, have made the community of Scarborough Southwest their home for the past eight and a half years.
They moved there because they felt its residents reflected their own values: people who were committed to family; who wanted to be good neighbours; who sought to make the community a better place; who worked hard and supported the schools, places of worship and all community activities and organizations.
Gary has always believed a community is what you make of it and he has been very active in Scarborough Southwest.
To Gary, public service has always been an admirable goal. He ran successfully for the school board four years ago because he believed that a strong and successful public school system is the cornerstone for a strong and successful democratic society.
As a trustee, as well as former vice-chair of the Toronto District School Board, Gary has had the opportunity to advocate for greater educational opportunities not only for the children in Scarborough Southwest but also for those children throughout Toronto and across the province of Ontario.
Gary is very excited about the prospects that lay ahead for this province, and believes that this is the right time for him to move forward. He brings both experience and knowledge to the next level of government. His track record clearly demonstrates that he is capable of motivating people, resolving conflicts, facilitating solutions and putting forth ideas that reflect the diverse needs of all people.
Gary feels fortunate and proud to live in a city and province that respects and recognizes the many cultures and communities that make up the fabric of our society.
Gary Crawford will represent the residents of Scarborough Southwest with an effective, strong and accessible voice at Queen's Park and he would be privileged to be their next MPP.
