Info | Randy was first elected as an MPP in October 2007 and serves as critic for Rural Affairs and Associations & Municipal Affairs and Housing for the official opposition. During his last four years as President of the Lanark Landowners Association, Randy Hillier has travelled extensively throughout Ontario, from Lanark and Glengarry Counties to Manitoulin Island and Tillsonburg, drawing large audiences and meeting with thousands of people. He has learned of the problems of rural Ontarians and heard their concerns.
Randy has a strong and varied background that brings common sense and the understanding of shared values. He is a licensed construction-maintenance electrician, and made the Dean’s honour list while earning a diploma in electrical engineering at Algonquin College.
He has been a project manager and electrical inspector with the federal government, as well as being a self-employed contractor, and member of the IBEW. He has also authored many columns and opinion pieces regarding social justice, private property, and agriculture.
In addition, he will continue to co-publish and edit rural Ontario’s successful and informative magazine The Landowner.
Randy has been married to Jane Hillier for 26 years, and has four children aged 15 to 24. They have lived in Lanark County for 24 years, and presently reside just outside of Perth.
