Info | Rep. Michele Kratky, a Democrat, represents part of St. Louis City (District 65) in the Missouri House of Representatives. She was elected to the House in a special election in February 2008. She replaced her husband, Fred Kratky, who had held the seat since 2002.
Prior to her legislative duties Rep. Kratky served as Vice President of Governmental Affairs for the St. Louis Association of Realtors. She also worked in the field of law for years as a court room clerk, assistant to several judges and a legal secretary. Rep. Kratky also was an appointed member of the St. Louis City Board of Adjustment and served as chair for two years.
Rep. Kratky’s civic activities have included service on the RCGA Legislative Committee, Mayor’s Lead Paint Task Force, Downtown Partnership Legislative Committee, and the St. Louis Lead Prevention Coalition Legislative Committee. Rep. Kratky also has volunteered her time as a room mother at St. Raphael’s Elementary School and to the Mothers’ Club at St. Louis University and Vianney High Schools.
Rep. Kratky is a graduate of Southwest High School in St. Louis.
Rep. Kratky was born in St. Louis in 1957 and currently resides there with her husband, Fred. They have 4 sons - Anthony, Steven, Nickolas and Mark Mechler.
