InfoJames Marlow is from Lincolnton, Georgia. James is not a career politician who will play partisan games and serve the party leaders in Washington. Instead, he is an independent thinker and a successful businessman who will always put serving the people of Georgia’s Tenth District first.

James is running for Congress because he wants to use his business experience to help bring new opportunities to Northeast Georgia and make sure the values of hard work and family that he learned in Lincolnton are represented in Washington.

James was fortunate to grow up in a loving family that was dedicated to improving the lives of people in their community. His father, Buddy, served as Mayor of Lincolnton. His mother, LaVina, has been a pillar of the Lincolnton community and the Lincolnton Baptist Church – James's home church. James graduated from Lincoln County High School and was an Eagle Scout. In Lincolnton, James learned the dedication to family, faith, and service that drives him today. James works everyday to instill those same values in his four sons, Tyler, Zachary, Parker and Carson.

James has lived in and around the Tenth District his whole life. He has owned his current home in Lincolnton since 1995. His family has been proud to call Northeast Georgia home since the American Revolution.

James graduated from Georgia Southern in 1983 with a degree in marketing. While in college, James served as a Congressional Intern for former U.S. Congressman Doug Barnard, who represented Northeast Georgia for many years.

Marlow and Family Soon after college, James began a career working on the cutting edge of the high tech boom. He joined the sales staff of Lotus, a revolutionary software firm, which later became part of IBM. James started his own Internet company, and he most recently worked with Yahoo!, a firm that helped revolutionize the way the world uses the Internet.

James also continued to focus on serving his community. James has been active in church and has served as a Deacon, Head Usher, and Sunday school teacher. He founded the Lotus Atlanta Philanthropy Committee, which works on community improvement projects like building houses for Habitat for Humanity. He has also served on the Board of Directors for the Savannah Riverkeeper and has been on the Board of Directors for Earthshare of Georgia.

As a Congressman for Georgia's Tenth Congressional District, James will use his experience in business to bring new ideas to Washington that will help improve the lives of everyday people. He will focus on bringing high paying, high quality jobs to Northeast Georgia. The working families of the Tenth District deserve real opportunities in their community so that they can make a good life for themselves. The children of the Tenth District deserve the chance to get a high quality education that will allow them to pursue their dreams. James also wants to make sure quality healthcare is available to everyone in the Tenth District.

James will fight every day to make sure that the politicians in Washington get back to focusing on improving the lives of regular Americans. People in Northeast Georgia work hard, play by the rules, and defend our country. They need someone that will make sure their concerns are being heard and their values are being represented in Washington.

James isn't a career politician who will play partisan political games in Congress. Instead, as your Congressman, James will work for real solutions for the people of the Tenth District. His values, his commitment, and his experience give him the tools he needs to fight for the people of Northeast Georgia -- James Marlow will always put us first.
