Description | W. Grant Bangerter, farm boy, horse lover, family man and emeritus LDS general authority, died Sunday of natural causes at age 91.
Bangerter, the second of 11 children, always answered God's call, younger brother Norm Bangerter, former Utah governor, said Monday.
The elder Bangerter had served as an LDS missionary, bishop, stake president, mission president, leader in the First Quorum of the Seventy, and president of the faith's Jordan River Temple.
He developed a lifelong love of Brazil, even giving three children, born while he was serving as mission president there, middle names from the country -- Lane Rio, Peggy Brasilia and Glen Paulo. |
