Democrats put $185,511 into getting on-screen; Republicans skip the show
The Democratic candidates for the Columbus City Council have bought loads of televisionad time for the homestretch of this election.
And in case you hadn’t noticed, their Republican challengers haven’t purchased any ad time on the major stations in town.
Democratic council members Mary Jo Hudson, Maryellen O’Shaughnessy and Kevin L. Boyce, boosted in recent days by thousands from the campaigns of City Council President Matt Habash and Councilman Michael C. Mentel, are spending $185,511 for ads on local TV affiliates. That’s according to the latest campaign-finance reports filed yesterday at the Franklin County Board of Elections. The filing, required by a city law passed last year, reflects contributions and spending from Oct. 20 through Wednesday. |
