| Description | Island riding, on the Strait of Georgia, contains the suburbs of Victoria in the District Municipality of Saanich; Saanich Inlet is in the NW corner; the northern boundary is the border between Saanich and the Central Saanich District Municipalities; the riding runs south to Highway 1/Highway 17/McKenzie Avenue.
The Vancouver Island Regional Correction Centre is in the riding.
In the 2006 census, 17% of the population was over age 65.
In the 2008 redistribution, kept 87% of riding; added 6% Oak Bay-Gordon Head and 3% Victoria-Hillside. |
