| Description |
The Kam Lake district encompasses a jumble of homes, trailers, apartments, industrial lots and dog yards at the south end of Yellowknife. It includes the Yellowknife Correctional Centre, N.J. MacPherson School, and St. Joseph School. It is bounded to the west by Range Lake Road, to the north by Woolgar Avenue and Taylor Road, and to the south and east by city limits. Yellowknife, with a population of 18,700, is the Northwest Territories' capital and by far its largest community.
