Info | Doris Maley is a community representative on the Halifax Regional Planning Committee.
Trained as a nurse, Ms. Maley served as a coordinator for the Matrimonial Counselling Association before being elected Alderman and Deputy Mayor of the City of Halifax, a position she held from 1976 to 1982.
Ms. Maley also coordinated the Community Outreach Program with Henson College and managed social housing for Canada Mortgage and Housing, before retiring in 1996.
She has worked within the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission, Metropolitan Authority, Halifax City Council, Halifax School Board, Metropolitan Transit Commission and other local and regional bodies to ensure that individual citizens and community groups as well as corporate interests were taken into account by decision makers.
Ms. Maley has lived in Queensland and in Halifax, and brings a wide perspective of rural and small places within HRM, both as a commuter and as a resident.
