| Info | Originally from Salmon Arm, David has lived in Vancouver Quadra with his wife and three children since 1992. David started his career in the business world as a chemical engineer with Dupont of Canada. He later went on to complete a Master's degree in Adult Education, and worked as a career counsellor for Student Services at the University of Toronto. He also served as President of the University's Staff Association for eight years.
After returning to British Columbia, David became an Area Manager for the Ministry of Skills, Training and Labour. He also worked as the Director of Public Involvement for the BC Energy Council. Using significant public input, he helped to develop a provincial sustainable energy strategy. It is this kind of public involvement that David intends to introduce to Ottawa as Vancouver Quadra's Member of Parliament.
David is currently a member of Vancouver City Council's Peace and Justice committee, which recently announced a World Peace Forum to be held in Vancouver in 2006. An active member of the Council of Canadians, David was involved in the campaign to keep BC Hydro public. David also finds the time to help coach the Lord Byng Tennis team.
