Info | Stephen Anderson was nominated to represent the Alberta NDP in Edmonton Mill Creek on November 21st, 2007. Stephen is a fourth-generation Journeyman Millwright, and a member of the Millwrights Local 1460 (as well as the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners). In this capacity, he works at major jobsites around the province, including Fort McMurray. He works up close with the source of Alberta's prosperity: the hard-working families and skilled tradespeople of Alberta.
Stephen is the youngest in a family of five boys, all of whom are teachers with Edmonton Public Schools. With a family full of teachers and his experience as a Millwright, Stephen saw the need to encourage more young people to enter the trades. With that goal in mind, he earned a Bachelor of Education Degree from the University of Alberta, and has worked for both of Edmonton's school boards between Millwright contracts.
Stephen was born and raised in Edmonton's south side. Along with his fiancee Laura, Stephen spends the summer months traveling around the world. He has been to more than 35 countries, and plans to visit Africa next. A former Rugby coach, Stephen enjoys attending Eskimo games with his brothers as well as spending time with his niece and nephews.
