Info | Born in Dodge City, Paul Morrison grew up in a traditional Kansas family - first in Hays, then Plainsville, then Bonner Springs, and finally settling in the Kansas City, Kansas area.
Paul attended Kansas State University, and completed his undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice at Washburn University in Topeka. Upon graduation, he entered the Washburn School of Law, graduating in 1980.
In 1980, Morrison immediately went to work as an Assistant District Attorney for Johnson County. In 1989, he became District Attorney, winning reelection to that post in four subsequent elections, each time running unopposed.
Morrison is a recipient of the Clarence M. Kelly Award for Excellence in Criminal Justice Administration, and in 2001 was named "Prosecutor of the Year" by the Kansas County and District Attorneys Association.
Active in both the legal profession and his local community, Morrison has served as President of the Kansas County and District Attorneys Association; President of the Johnson County Bar Foundation; President and a member of the board of Sunflower House and SafeHome, Inc.; and Chairman of the Johnson County United Way's fund-raising effort in 2004.
He is an original member of the Kansas Sentencing Commission, and currently serves as its Vice Chair.
Paul and Joyce Morrison have been married twenty-four years, and have three children. Paul and Joyce make their home in Lenexa, and are members of Good Shepard Catholic Church in Shawnee, Kansas.
