Charles J. Searle won the Rock Island County caucus held on February 23rd by a large margin winning all of the counties 37 delegates. Rep. George Prince went on to win all the remaining five counties and all of the counties combined 127 delegates. George McCaskrin and any other candidate that had sought the nomination were eliminated at the local caucuses.
