Description | The Front de Gauche Primary will essentially be an internal communist primary, which will take place in two steps:
The choice between Jean-Luc Mélenchon, André Chassaigne Emmanuel Dang Tran and André Gérin will first be made by 800 communist delegates on June 3rd, 4th and 5th.
The choice of the communist convention must then be ratified by the registered PCF members on June 16th to 18th. The winner of the vote will be designated as a candidate of the Front de Gauche.
Shortly before the national conference of the communist delegates, André Gérin choose to withdraw from the race. Jean-Luc Mélenchon's candidacy was approved by 63.6% of the delegates. However, a multiple-name primary, including André Chassaigne and Emmanuel Dang Tran, was also approved by nearly 80% of the votes. |
