| Description | Incumbent John Walsh (D) dropped out of the race after reports surfaced that he plagiarized large portions of his final thesis for the United States Army War College. The Democratic Party had until August 20, 2014, to choose a new candidate for the general election. On August 16, the party held a convention in Helena where delegates chose Amanda Curtis as their new nominee. |
