Description | The votes will go in the following rounds.
All 50 governors, 5 polls, the top two finishers will go on to the next round. This will take place over a six-day period from June 19th until June 24th. The ten finishers will be split into two groups (selection will be alphabetical), and voting on these two groups of five will be conducted between June 26th and July 1st. Finally, the top two finishers in each of these polls will advance to a final vote, which will take place between July 4th and July 9th. The governor with the most votes of the two shall be named OC's Favorite Governor.
First round results: Bredesen, Beebe, Doyle, Easley, Freudenthal, Lynch, Kaine, Palin, Napolitano, Schweitzer, and Richardson all moved forward to the second round (ten Democrats and one Republican).
Second round results: Doyle and Schweitzer (both Democrats) advanced to the final.
The following governors didn't receive a single vote: John Baldacci, Haley Barbour, Steve Beshear, Roy Blunt, Mitch Daniels, Jim Gibbons, Dave Heinemann, Ted Kulongoski, Joe Manchin, Ruth Ann Minner, Sonny Perdue, Rick Perry, and Mark Sanford (eight Republicans and five Democrats). |
