Data Sources | North Carolina Manual 1911, N.C. Year Book 1909. The Manual did not provide the breakdown for minor candidates; Guilford's breakdown comes from the Greensboro Patriot, 11/11/1908. |
Description | In 1908, NC's Fifth Congressional District was first called the "Imperial Fifth," a nickname that continued in use until 1932 when the Imperial Fifth was divided into two districts. The label continued in occasional use thereafter for the Fifth District (1933 to 1943).
