Description | Democratic nomination
The Democratic district convention met in Durham on 7/10/1900. The delegates nominated Kitchin for anothr term unanimously (Roxboro Courier, 7/11/1900).
Prohibition nomination
NC Prohibitionists nominated their slate around 9/1/1900. Rodgers' name first appears on a list of candidates soon thereafter (Salisbury Evening Sun, 9/11/1900).
Populist nomination
The Populist district convention met in Durham on 10/10/1900. Populists had initially planned to support Joyce, but they then discovered his campaign was not trying to appeal to their voters. The convention nominated Hoover, one of US Sen. Marion Butler's secretaries (Wilmington Morning Post, 10/11/1900). |
