| Description | Presidential Electors met in their respective state capitals on 12/3/1856 to cast the electoral votes. In Wisconsin, a serious snow storm prevented the Electors from meeting until the 4th. Although Wisconsin voted on the 'wrong' day, Congress recognized the situation and counted its electoral votes.
Congress met in joint session on 2/11/1857 to count the electoral vote. |
