| Description | Governor Matt Blunt issued a Writ of Election to fill the vacancy in the office of State Senate, District 16. This vacancy was created by the resignation of Senator Sarah Steelman. Candidates nominated by the political parties or by petition must file their declarations of candidacy with the Secretary of State by 5:00 p.m. on February 24, for the special election to be held on Tuesday, April 5, 2005. |
