| Description | Right-of-center, nativist party created upon the merger of Parti Bumiputera Sarawak and Parti Pesaka Anak Sarawak in 1973. Party supports strengthened policies designed to favor bumiputras (Muslim Malays), including affirmative action in public education and in the public sector, with the intent of weakening and subjugating the Chinese minority. Party is the largest in the State of Sarawak and the largest in the Gabungan Parti Sarawak coalition. Party has been chaired by the 6th Chief Minister of Sarawak, Abang Abdul Rahman Johari Abang Openg, since January 13, 2017 [Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB); United Bumiputera Heritage Party]. |
