| Description | Sarawak-based Chinese-minority interests party supporting multi-ethnic government and Sarawakian autonomy. Party was Sarawak's first and was quite prominent in anti-British acts when Sarawak was made an official British Crown Colony in 1946. Party was a major regional administer beginning in 1959 and was known as the Sarawak United Peoples' Party. Party began to collapse beginning after its failure in the 1966 Sarawak election and has been struggling to recover since. Party has been led by Sim Kui Hian since May 13, 2016 [Sarawak United Peoples' Party (SUPP); Parti Rakyat Bersatu Sarawak (PRSS)]. |
