Description | Sindh-Province based, pan-Islamist fundamentalist party founded by "blasphemy activist" and militant Khadim Hussain Rizvi. Rizvi formed the party mainly to monitor Pakistan's established authorities and society at large for blasphemy transgressions. Though the party has been linked to violence, extrajudicial killings and assassination attempts (including Pakistan's Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal in May 2018), party was only banned for five months (April 2021 to November 2021) due to its political influence. Party has been led by Rizvi's son, Saad Hussain Rizvi, since November 21, 2020. A leader of the party is called Ameer (or Emir). Party holds three seats in the 168-seat Sindh Assembly [تحریکِ لبیک پاکستان; "I am present Pakistan"]. |
