| Description | Center-right Calderonist, 'social-Christian' party founded by the son of president Rafael Ángel Calderón (1940-44), Rafael Ángel Calderón Fournier (himself a former president from 1990 to 1994). Calderón Fournier and a group of supporters split from the Social Christian Unity Party (PUSC) in 2014. Party uses the word 'Republican' as a tell-tale, linking it to Calderón Fournier's father's old party, the National Republican Party, and uses "Republican Party" (Partido Republicano) on campaign literature and at rallies. Party is led by Otto Roberto Vargas Víquez [Partido Republicano Socialcristiano (PRSC)]. |
