Description | The Order Party (Parti de l'Ordre) was the political association of the conservative republicans and of most of the monarchists (Nearly every Orleanists, the majority of Legitimists). It was lead by Adolphe Thiers.
More out of political consideration than of personal enthusiasm, the Order Party backed Louis-Napoléon Bonaparte for the french presidential election in 1848.
The Order Party triumphed in the 1849 elections. |
