Description | Center-right senior-interests party founded in 2009 as the Independent Elderly and Children Union (OokU) by Senators Jan Nagel and Kees de Lange, who became Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the newly-formed party in 2020, and Ton Luiting, Alexander Münninghoff and Maurice Koopman. Party supports raising the pension age to 65 and a national policy of encouraging Dutch citizens over the age of 50 into pension funds. Party has been led by Martin van Rooijen since May 6, 2021. Party holds one seat in the Senate but lost its membership in the Dutch House after elections held in March 2021. The party's chairman since June 24, 2023 has been Feyenoord football club chair Jorien van den Herik [VijftigPlus (50PLUS)]. |
