Description | Far-left Trotskyist party founded by members who split from the Movement to Socialism in 1992. The MST launched an alliance with the Communist Party in 1997 called the Izquierda Unida, competing under that name in legislative contests throughout the nation until 2003. The MST renamed itself MST-New Left in 2007. Party considers itself the best proponent of Morenism, a current of Trotskyism founded by Nahuel Moreno in 1943. Party president is Alexander Bodart, a former legislator of the City of Buenos Aires [Movimiento Socialista de los Trabajadores (MST-Nueva Izquierda; MST-NI)]. |
