| Description | Uganda's largest opposition party. Party was launched by a former acolyte of President Yoweri Museveni, Kizza Besigye.
Besigye, a perennial presidential candidate of the FDC, lost his position as party president in November 2012 to Gen. Mugisha Muntu, who was himself defeated by Patrick Oboi Amuriat in November 2017
