DescriptionCenter-right party once known as the Democrats of Norway until May 25, 2018 founded primarily by former members of the Progress Party. Party took a stand that Western liberal values and women's rights were being undermined by mass immigration from Muslim countries, and was tagged 'anti-immigrant' thereafter. The Party began to take left-of-center cultural and social positions under businessman Geir Ugland Jacobsen who became DiN's leader on May 29, 2021. Ugland Jacobsen stated a plan to rename the party in due speed in an effort to enter the Storting after election day in 2021 [Demokratene (DiN); The Democrats].
