| Description | Liberal, environmentalist party launched by former Bucharest Senator Adrian Manolache. Party's perennial failure to enter the Chamber of Deputies brought about a change of leadership and structure on September 1, 2001, leading to its merger on March 1, 2003 with the Green Alternative Party "Ecologists". Party then chose to move to the right and change its objectives, supporting the development of a market economy, including supporting the controversial Roșia Montană gold cyanide mining project, and reduced state powers. Party is led by Dănuț POP [Partidul Ecologist Român (PER)] |
