Description | Womens Suffrage Movement Party.
Seth Hinshaw:
For several election cycles, the Prohibition candidates appeared on the ballot in some states under the label of the Temperance Party. For example, in 1872, James Black appeared on the ballot in Ohio as the Temperance nominee, not the Prohibition nominee. I do not know if the various temperance movements before 1869 used this party label or not. |
