Description | Party motto: "We don't give a hoot."
Political party in the state of Washington during the 1976 election. It was formed by Harry James Band bassist Red Kelly, who recruited fellow James Band pianist and arranger Jack Perciful and Don "Earthquake" Ober, a local guitarist, to join the party and run statewide in 1976.
When addressing media, Kelly claimed the party stood for "Out With Logic, On With Lunacy." The party's campaign bumper stickers read simply "Bumper Sticker."
Following the 1976 election, a merger with the Goat Party was planned, but unfortunately has yet to materialize. Red Kelly did make a later foray into politics launching an outsider bid for mayor of Tacoma in 1989. He finished a respectable third with about 10% of the vote. |
