Description | Hard-left, Marxist-Leninist party begun as the Communist Forum until a rebranding on November 7, 1993. Party was formed by a Stalinist faction within the Communist Party of Denmark (DKP). This faction decided to separate after the DKP broke off all relations with the Soviet-led Communist bloc in 1990, and committed itself to a new cross-socialist alliance called the Unity List (Enhedslisten, translated in English as the Red-Green Alliance). This new "Communist Party in Denmark" subsequently disavowed any links or discussions with other parties it judged 'unpure' and not 100% communist by its standards. After more than three decades of self-enforced isolation, the leaders of the party decided to bury the hatchet with the rival DKP in September 2023 and rejoined it by merger. Party then dissolved on September 27, 2023. Party was led by Rikke Carlsson [Kommunistisk Parti i Danmark (KPiD or R);also known as the Kommunisterne]. |
