Description | Far-left militia and armed movement which abandoned the “revolutionary option” and clandestine armed struggle in January 1975. Party was born out of a split from the National Union of Popular Forces (UNFP) and pursued revolution under the nom de guerre “Branche de Rabat.” Party was one of many one-time violent 'liberation movements', including the Istiqlal Party, which softened its image by transforming themselves later into 'democratic Socialist' political parties. Driss Lachguar has been the party's First Secretary since December 2012. Party is a member of the 'Ittihadie family', an assembly of like-minded left to far-left parties [L'Union socialiste des forces populaires (USFP)]. |
