| Description | Syncretic two-party electoral alliance of the center-left Social Democratic Party (Partidul Social Democrat, PSD) and the center-right National Liberal Party (Partidul Național Liberal, PNL) co-chaired by Marcel Ciolacu of the PSD and Nicolae Ciucă of the PNL. Both parties share support for a "guided" democracy which preserves the bureaucratic status quo (aka, statism) and Romanian nationalism. Alliance was joined briefly by Honor Keleman's Hungarian Democratic Union of Romania (Uniunea Democrată Maghiară din România, UDMR/RMDSZ). Alliance chose Nicolae Ciucă as its prime-ministerial nominee in 2021, who wound up elected Prime Minister on November 25, 2021. Alliance was re-formed in 2024 to contest in European and local Romanian elections planned for June 9, 2024 [Alianța PSD-PNL (CNR)]. |
