| Description | Right-of-center party begun as an association of the same name established by Alexander Mitsch and CDU members on March 24, 2017 disturbed over the immigration policies of former German Chancellor and the CDU leader at the time, Angela Merkel. Party supports an out-reach to the AfD and more restrictive immigration measures. Party calls for the dismantling of the party state, a reduction in the size of parliaments, the strengthening of direct mandates and the expansion of referendums. Party plans to participate in September 2024 regional elections in Saxony, Thuringia, and Brandenburg. Party is chaired by constitutional lawyer Hans-Georg Maaßen [WerteUnion (WU)]. |
