Description | Socialist party once known as the Party of Labour of Albania (PPSh) formed in November 1941 and led by Albania's Stalinist dictator Enver Hoxha. Party was the only one permitted in Albania until December 11, 1990. Party changed its name to the "Socialist Party of Albania" [Partia Socialiste e Shqipërisë (PS or PSSh)] during an extraordinary congress on June 10-13, 1991. Party is led by Edi Rama, Prime Minister of Albania since September 13, 2013. Party holds 74 seats in the 140-seat Parliament after elections held on April 25, 2021. |
